Overview

This position is diverse requiring skills in the areas of mechanical and industrial engineering.  A successful candidate will be able to apply their skills to an industrial, commercial, or business environment.  The candidate will be responsible for design, installation, operation, optimization, maintenance, modification, construction, modernization and protection of physical equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

Essential

  • Provide engineering services and recommendations to all Melaleuca departments.
  • Own projects through the complete life cycle. Preparation of project cost estimates; budgeting and forecasting; planning and scheduling of work; startup and handoff to department using equipment; continuing improvement.
  • Documentation of each of the steps above. This information should detail each step of the process and serve as a reference for others.
  • Review operational efficiencies in manufacturing and distribution and make recommendations for improvement where appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Approximate years of experience 0 to 5 years.
  • Must have an understanding of, and a proficiency in the following areas:
    • Electrical Systems
      • Safety
      • Troubleshooting
      • Electronics troubleshooting
    • Mechanical Systems
      • Safety
      • Troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical energy transfer systems
    • Equipment and Facility Maintenance
      • Understanding and interpretation of drawings and specifications
    • Economics
      • Industrial equipment specification and financial justification
    • Administration
      • Project administration and management
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must have excellent computer skills
      • MS Office suite
      • AutoCAD LT
      • PLC Programming (Specify)
      • Solidworks for equivalent modeling software

  • Ability to work independently and professionally.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Standing, sitting or walking for duration of shift.
  • Pulling stretching, bending and lifting for duration of shift.
  • Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
  • Ability to maneuver around, in between, and behind equipment and facilities to diagnose problems and create solutions.
  • Ability to organize, oversee and coordinate assigned projects.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
