Overview

Increases average order to maximum potential through a variety of sales techniques by face‑to‑face contact with customers.  Fills over-the-counter orders as well as keeping the shelves stocked.

Responsibilities

  • Takes customer orders accurately and courteously at store counter by operating a computer terminal, logging orders, inputting correct data and being familiar with products, policies and procedures, etc.
  • Performs suggestive sales by recommending additional products or tools (i.e., books, specials, etc.).
  • Fills accurately over‑the‑counter orders by taking the invoice from the printer, locating items on the shelf, bagging the order for the customer, etc.
  • Assists Coordinator with Cash Reconciliation
  • Ensures desired amount of products are on shelves by ordering and checking inventory levels.
  • Keeps accurate counts of stock and supplies.
  • Cleans and organizes the basement storage area, including sweeping, organizing pallets, tote breakdown, etc.
  • Stores and organizes material on the shelves and surrounding areas.
  • Accurately distributes materials to various locations.
  • Removes damaged product from the product totes and move to Returns for further processing.
  • Works in rack area and keeping the racks supplied at all times.
  • Performs cleaning in store area as necessary, wiping down shelves, dusting, sweeping, rotating inventory, etc.
  • Assists customers with questions as necessary.

Additional

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Assumes supervisory duties in the absence of the coordinator.
  • Operates pallet jack and hand cart as well as basement elevator.
  • Flexibility in schedule (all month ends and 3 Saturdays a month minimum.)

 

Qualifications

  • 10 key by touch.
  • 30 wpm typing.
  • Detailed work and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Be a team player.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under stress.
  • Ability to lift 80lbs. waist high on a regular basis.
  • Pulling stretching, bending and lifting for duration of shift.
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift.
  • Manual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, sorting, filing, typing, writing. etc.
  • Communicate (hearing & speech) w/ individuals in person and by phone.
  • Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
