Job Description
*Overview*
We are seeking a Mental health therapist who loves working with traumatized children, to join our team. The therapist will also be expected to become play therapy certified within 3 years of employment and the company will pay for all play therapy supervision and much of the required training. The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience in providing mental health support and counseling services, particularly to children and families. This role requires a commitment to improving the well-being of children through effective therapy, crisis management, and resource coordination. The therapist will work collaboratively with other professionals to create comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each client.
*Responsibilities*
* Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients, focusing on mental health issues, emotional challenges, and life transitions.
* Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
* Mentor junior staff or interns in clinical practices and procedures.
* Manage crisis situations effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
* Collaborate with community resources and agencies to facilitate treatment Goals.
* Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
*Skills*
* Strong knowledge of child trauma interventions or willing to learn quickly.
* Expertise in crisis management techniques to handle emergency situations effectively.
* Experience in childcare settings or working with children from diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to mentor colleagues and support their professional development.
* Understanding of workforce development initiatives that assist clients in gaining employment.
