Construction Operations Manager

Job Description

Castlerock Homes is a generational home builder crafting custom and spec homes throughout Eastern Idaho. We are adding a key member to our leadership support team — a sharp, self-directed professional who will own the financial and procurement side of our builds. This is not an entry-level bookkeeping seat. It is a high-trust role for someone who takes pride in clean books, tight job costs, and projects that never wait on materials.

The Role
The Construction Operations Manager owns two things: the company's books and the flow of materials to our job sites. You will run full-charge bookkeeping in QuickBooks — purchase orders, accounts payable, bill payment, and job cost tracking — and work directly with ownership and the management team to coordinate projects from pre-construction through completion. Your judgment will directly shape our margins, our schedules, and our relationships with vendors and trade partners.

What You'll Own

Procurement & Project Coordination
• Perform material takeoffs for custom and spec homes and order to the build schedule.
• Coordinate deliveries with suppliers so crews are never waiting on materials.
• Read and interpret residential construction plans.
• Guide presale clients through interior, exterior, and finish selections.
• Keep projects on schedule and on budget alongside our management team.

Financial Operations
• Full-charge bookkeeping for the company in QuickBooks.
• Generate and manage purchase orders for materials, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Enter and pay bills through QuickBooks; own accounts payable end to end.
• Track job costs against budgets and keep ownership informed with accurate, current numbers.
• Reconcile vendor invoices against purchase orders and deliveries — catch what others miss.

Who We Are Looking For
• A proven QuickBooks professional — minimum 3 years, with full bookkeeping command of POs, AP, bill payment, and job costing.
• Someone who runs their own systems and doesn't need to be managed day to day.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, and comfort with new software.
• A clear communicator who represents the company well with vendors, subs, and clients.
• Construction or homebuilding industry experience is a strong plus; plan reading and takeoff
experience even better — we will train the right person on the rest.

What We Offer
• Compensation that reflects the caliber of person we're hiring — pay is based on experience and ability, not a posted range.
• A key seat with real autonomy and direct access to ownership — your work is seen and valued.
• Stable, year-round work with an established, multi-generational builder.
• A team that builds things worth being proud of.

If you are the person other companies can't afford to lose, we'd like to talk. Send your resume and a brief summary of your QuickBooks and bookkeeping experience.
