JOB SUMMARY:
Arrange for the efficient and orderly admission of outpatient clinical visits. Ensures that the patient’s information is collected, entered in the computer system accurately, and that all patients are aware of policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer. Distributes appropriate information to all ancillary departments. Must maintain a 95% accuracy rate quarterly on all admissions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for registering patients for outpatient therapy, obtaining personal information or verifying information already on file, including emergency numbers and insurance information.
2. Supervise pediatric clients in the waiting room.
3. Communicates appropriately and clearly to the office manager and therapists.
4. Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
5. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function well in stressful situations.
6. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity; ensures confidentiality of patients’ records.
7. Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
8. Participates in the educational programs, completes annual educational requirements, and attends in-service meetings as required.
9. Accepts and completes other duties as assigned or requested.
10. Answers incoming calls to the facility in a professional, timely manner.
11. Must maintain a professional attitude.
*part time position for the first year with the likelihood of it turning into a full time position after the 1 year mark.
